Video Conference Platform – Update RC20220121 to all Zones
Canadian Zones European Union Zones United States Zones Video Conferencing PlatformWe have successfully pushed an update to all instances residing in the United States, Canada and the European Union. This release focuses on providing users a refreshed UI layout that is aesthetically and functionally pleasing.
- Refreshed UI Layout + Increased Number of Video Participants In addition to providing users a refreshed UI layout, we have increased the number of on-video participants to 20 (with up to 200 total participants as before). This allows for the easier exchange of ideas and enhance overall collaborative experience. For future releases, we intend to increase the number of participants to 25 and incrementally through the course of 2022 attaining 200 on-video participants.
- Ability to Switch Between Sidebar View and Gallery View Users can now select a view type that best caters to their needs. Participants can opt to hold their meetings in the Sidebar View (as depicted above), allowing them to easily view all participants through the pagination feature. Or, they can opt for the traditional Gallery View. For future releases, we intend to provide more functional opportunities such as the ability to pin viewers.
- Optimized Performance & Resolved Minor Bugs To provide our users an enhanced Video Conference experience, we have resolved several minor bugs and issues.

- Himalayas Now Provides the Ability to Track Archive and Restore Jobs via Job Management
We are excited to announce the new Job Management dashboard that allows Administrators to keep track of existing and upcoming jobs. The dashboard allows Administrators to identify a Job’s beginning and completion date, type, and its current progress.Moreover, Administrators will be able to refine their search by using the Job Management’s filtering options. In future releases, we intend to provide the ability to undo a restoring and archiving job, view associated files, access advanced filtering capabilities, and much more! YuJa Panorama for Digital Accessibility – Update 20211215 Released to US, CAN, and EU Zones
Canadian Zones European Union Zones Panorama for Digital Accessibility United States ZonesWe have successfully pushed an update to all instances residing in the United States, Canada and the European Union. This release prioritizes making Panorama accessible to users of Blackboard 3800 and higher versions. This release also focuses on providing users easier management of content, enhanced security, and a number of optimizations.
- Panorama Now Supported on Blackboard 3800+ via Browser Extension for Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge, and Apple’s Safari
We have now made Panorama available for users of Blackboard 3800 and higher versions through a downloadable browser extension. Users can download the extension on a browser of their choice, including: Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, and Apple’s Safari. Moreover, while we currently support non-ultra courses, we intend to support Blackboard Ultra courses for future releases. To allow for easier management of content, users will now be able to remove documents from Panorama through the LTI application. This will not remove users’ files from their Learning Management System. To learn more about this feature, please click here.
- Optimized Security, Accuracy, and Efficiency
In addition to resolving minor bugs, we continue to stand firm on our promise of making learning accessible for all students. Thus, we have strengthened the efficiency and accuracy of issue detection for doc(x) files. Moreover, taking the concern of users’ privacy and security seriously, we have made significant improvements to Panorama’s integrity and security.

YuJa Himalayas for Data Archiving and Compliance – Update RC20211210 Released to US, CAN, and EU Zones
Canadian Zones European Union Zones Himalayas United States ZonesWe have successfully pushed an update to all Himalayas instances residing in the United States, Canada and the European Union. This update focuses on providing users an enhanced data management experience by offering new sorting and filtering capabilities, and, automatically uploading and organizing users recordings from a variety of third-party video conferencing software.
Keep in mind that many of the capabilities provided by YuJa’s Himalayas Team are also available to customers that license only the Enterprise Video Platform.
- Support for Zoom LTI Pro Provides Automatic Uploading of Zoom Meetings in Media Channel (Available to EVP Customers Too)
When an instructor completes a Zoom meeting in their course using the Zoom LTI Pro connector (available in the Zoom Marketplace), this update will now provide an option to automatically upload their recording and make it visible for students. This removes the responsibility off instructors in having to upload their Zoom media.
- Policy Creator Now Offers the Ability to Add File Size and Video Length as Rules (Available to EVP Customers Too)
This update provides Administrators the ability to filter content by File Size and Video Length. When selected, users will be able to refine their search by entering a video length and file size value.
- Distinguish Between Blackboard Collaborate Recordings with the Inclusion of a Timestamp (Available to EVP Customers Too)
To help content owners distinguish between Blackboard Collaborate recordings, Administrators can enable the inclusion of the date and timestamp in video titles. To learn how to enable this feature, please click here.
- Designated Folders for Imported Webex, Blackboard Collaborate, and Microsoft Teams Recordings in Media Library (Available to EVP Customers Too)
To replicate what was offered for imported Zoom recordings, designated folders will now be created in users Media Library for imported Webex, Blackboard Collaborate, and Microsoft Teams videos.
- Bulk Enrollment for Blackboard Collaborate Videos (Available to EVP Customers Too)
Administrators will now be able to bulk enroll users to receive imported Blackboard Collaborate videos in their Media Library.
- ‘Delete Optional Transcodes’ Notification in Audit Logs (Available to EVP Customers Too)
This update will provide Administrators a notification when the ‘Delete Optional Transcodes’ rule has run with a policy. Users will be able to filter results by selecting ‘Recurrent Action Performed’.
- Ability to Sort Files by Date Added and Last Viewed (Available to EVP Customers Too)
This update allows Administrators to easily sort content by Date Added (oldest to newest) and Last Viewed.

Video Conference Platform – Update RC20211119 to all Zones
Canadian Zones European Union Zones United States Zones Video Conferencing PlatformWe have successfully pushed an update to all instances residing in the United States, Canada and the European Union. This update aims to provide users an enhanced experience through optimization upgrades on their PC and on their Video Conference applications on Android 1.2.0 and iOS 1.1.0
- Increased Number of Video Presenters
We has successfully increased the maximum capacity of presenters that can participate in a Video Conference from twelve to sixteen (in addition to about 200 more non-video participants). This update will facilitate greater collaboration and allow for the easier sharing of ideas. We intend to further increase the number of presenters in future releases.
- Enhanced Microphone and Audio Selection
Prior to joining a video conference, users can opt to join with their default microphone and speaker or choose from the connected sources available. The Video Conference also supports dynamic source switching during an active video conference, allowing users to make changes to their microphone and speaker source.
- Optimized Loading and Downloading
We performed a webpack integration to reduce bundle sizes in order to allow for users to experience faster loading time and reduced memory storage. - Update Reflected in Mobile Applications
In order to provide mobile users the same enhanced experience, the Video Conference application has been updated, which entailed resolving minor bugs and making general improvements, to support this release.

Enterprise Video Platform – Update 20211126 Released to US, CAN, and EU Zones
Canadian Zones Enterprise Video Platform European Union Zones General Platform Live Streaming Media Management Media Player Video QuizzesWe have successfully pushed an update to all instances residing in the United States, Canada and the European Union. This update provides new quiz capabilities, new enterprise connectors to third-party hardware, as well as 150+ smaller bug fixes and updates.
- Video Quizzes Now Offer the Ability to Assign LMS Gradebook Credit Based on Percentage Watched
In addition to assigning credit based on Percentage Watched Threshold, users now have the ability to give credit to students based on the percentage of the video they watched. For example, if a student has watched 50% of the assigned video, they will receive a credit of 0.5 points. This Playback Quiz can also be enabled via the Video Quiz Editor. - Ability for Users to take Video Quiz in External View
In addition to standard view, students will now have the option to take their Video Quizzes in External View. This allows students to fully utilize the space on their device to create an optimal viewing experience.
- Refreshed Admin Panel Platform Tab with Unified Preferences, Settings, Metadata, API and System Alerts Sub-tabs
This update reduces the numbers of tabs in the Admin Panel and simplifies the organization, layout and usability of many of the configurations. Click here to learn more about the Admin Panel’s Platform tab.
- Refreshed Roster Tab with New Summary Cards and Filtering Options
Administrators now have the ability to filter and identify users that match specific criteria. This update will now allow users to generate quick search results as opposed to manually searching for their desired results. Click here to learn more about the Admin Panel’s Roster Tab.
- Ability to Redo Actions in the Video Editor
Users will now be able to perform a redo of their last action in the Video Editor. This allows users to easily retrieve their edit as opposed to recreating it. Click here to learn more about using Redo in the Video Editor.
- The Media Chooser Now Offers Expanded Display of Filter Options
This update entails displaying filter options in a horizontal window for easier navigation and selection. This feature aims to help power users, with a large quantity of diverse media, retrieve their desired content. Users can customize the filters to be as specific or general as they please, ranging from file types, including YouTube and Vimeo, to specific publication status, and location where stored.
- Ability to Generate Indexes Based on OCR
Users will now be able to generate indexes based on OCR via the Accessibility tab in the Media Details panel. This will replace the previous feature which generated indexes based on the closed caption file, and based on our research creates better and more structured indexes. Better indexes allow students to easily navigate between topics within lengthy videos. Click here to learn more about how to generate indexes.
- Media Player Now Shows Video Next to Sidebar in Small Viewports (Instead of Overlay)
To optimize the viewing experience of the Media Player for smaller windows, this update supports side-by-side viewing of the Media Player and Sidebar for users who have smaller device screens or prefer to view content in smaller windows.
- New Epiphan Enterprise Connector for Integration with Epiphan Capture Hardware
With Epiphan Video’s Pearl integration with YuJa’s Video Platform, users will experience easy data management through automatic recordings and live-streaming of their scheduled and impromptu events. - New Matrox Enterprise Connector for Integration with Matrox Monarch LCS Capture Hardware
The Matrox hardware integration with YuJa’s Video Platform enables users to define their profiles and record video content using Matrox LCS devices. Built as a partnership with Matrox’s Product Management Team, this integration provides Matrox customers with the ability to use their Matrox hardware for classroom lecture capture use cases. - Ability to Access Alternative Formats for HTML pages within Moodle, Blackboard, and D2L
To mirror the capability offered in Canvas, users now have the ability to access Alternative Formats and view Accessibility Reports for HTML pages in Moodle, Blackboard and D2L.
- Ability to Add and View Current Source Files
Users will now be able to add and view the latest version of the original file.
- Up-to-Date Status of Audio File Request
Users will now be able to view the conversion status of Audio Files. Average conversion time is 5-10 minutes.
- Ability to Version Lock Visualizers in Moodle for Additional Security
In Moodle, Admins can enhance visualizer security with version locking. Admins have the option between locking the current version or using the most up-to-date version via the Panorama for Moodle Settings.
- Reduction of Calls to Moodle’s LMS
In effort to significantly reduce the number of calls to Moodle’s LMS to enhance performance, this update implements an optimal workflow to capture the Moodle file identifiers.

Minor Version Update for Software Capture for Apple and Software Capture for PC

This version incorporates WCAG 2.1 Level AA accessibility-approved colors, as well as some small improvements to our Single-Sign-On capabilities within the applications.

The processing infrastructure used by the Video Editor in the EU and CA zone has been optimized using the same elastic edit-processing infrastructure utilized in the US zone. The result is faster editing of long videos. - Gradebook-Aligned Video Completion Scoring
The Video Platform now offers an LMS Gradebook-aligned video completion scoring capability previously offered within the Techsmith Knowmia product. With this product being sunset, the ability to apply a grade based on a percentage-threshold watched was a heavily requested feature by former Knowmia customers. - Support for Organization-Approved Pre-Roll and Post-Roll (Trailer) Videos

- Support for Downloading Video Podcasts with “Burned In” Captions
Content Owners and Administrators can now opt to download their video content with a “burned in” copy of the time-synchronized caption file. - Create Auto-Scheduled Placeholder Recordings That Can Be Immediately Inserted Into Instructional Content
Auto-schedule recordings can now create placeholder videos ahead of the actual event. These placeholder objects can be inserted similar to actual videos. Click here to learn more about creating a Placeholder Video. - Browser Capture Now Provides the Ability to Download a Single Stream Podcast of the Newly Created Content
Users now have an option to immediately download an offline podcast of their newly created multi-stream content. Previously within the Brower Capture Studio, multi-stream content had to be downloaded as separate streams. Please note, the most popular workflow of saving directly to My Media is not affected by this enhancement.
- New Device Management and Integration APIs
In an effort to continue to expand the capabilities of our Hardware Capture appliance partners, we have continued to extend our APIs to provide additional device management and integration APIs. These include: the ability to programmatically register and unregister third-party hardware capture appliances, integration of Live Stream ingestion, recording pause and resume support, and more. - Support for D2L Homepage Link to Video Platform
D2L institutions can now add a link to the YuJa Enterprise Video Platform that is not contextually associated with a course. When the LTI link is followed, the Video Platform will present the user’s My Media content and is agnostic to any specific course view. - Support for Moodle Media Chooser Insertion of a Direct Link When the LMS Strips the Embed Code
Institutions that use Moodle can now use the Media Chooser in scenarios where the Moodle LMS strips the inserted video link, such as within a Moodle Forum post of a student. Now this scenario is detected and a link is, instead, inserted. - Support for Bulk Human Caption Operation
Human captioned-enabled users can now bulk-select multiple videos to send for human captioning. - Improved the Loading Time of the User-Level Analytics View
Optimized the retrieval and tabulation functions of this user-centric analytics view. Now this user-level view loads, in most cases, within a matter of seconds rather than over a minute. - Optimized Loading Speed of Media Player When Embedding 5+ Videos in a Page
Now embedded videos will load much more quickly as a result of a number of packaging, caching, and localization optimizations. - Continued Work on Accessibility Improvements Across Video PlatformAs part of our continued efforts to deepen the accessibility of our offerings, we have focused this release on improved Tab Ordering. For example, the Video Editor’s Tab Order is more logical and intuitive than it was previously.

YuJa Panorama for Digital Accessibility – Update Released to All Zones

This update aims to provide users with more configurable settings to measure accessibility.
- Improved HTML Accessibility Checks
To ensure all content meets accessibility standards, HTML WYSIWYG Editor content will be analyzed and assigned an Accessibility Score. Additionally, Panorama will guide instructors with steps to improve the Accessibility Score.
- Updated UI of Accessibility Gauges
To create uniformity in the Score Report, Course Report and LTI Institution Reporting, the UI of the Accessibility Gauge has been updated.
- New Configurable Course Default Settings
To provide Admin and Instructors with more oversight in to the course, a Course Configuration Panel has been implemented. The Course Configuration Panel serves as a central location for Admins and Instructors to configure course-level settings.
- Ability for Instructors to Enable or Disable Accessibility Report Gauges
In the Course Configuration Panel, Instructors can configure the Report settings, choosing whether to enable or disable the Accessibility Gauges from appearing in their courses.
- Ability for Admins to Review Default Settings
In the Course Configuration Panel, Admins can set default Report settings on an institution-wide level.
- Improved Tab Order and Keyboard Accessibility
The Tab key can be used to navigate through the Panorama Platform, including the Alternative Formats.
