      We’ve updated the interface to include icons for each content element type, helping you categorize different content elements and visualize the reading structure more clearly.

    YuJa LMS Accessibility Designer Add-On Platform – November 2024

    We have successfully pushed an update to all YuJa LMS Accessible Design Add-On Platform instances residing in the United States, Canada, European Union, and Australia. This release provides new option to enable necessary designer elements, specify your preferred image padding, and save your recently selected colors.

    1. New Administrator Option to Enable Necessary Designer Elements
      If you’re an administrator, you can customize which LMS Designer elements are available to faculty. Simply access your General Settings and enable the elements your institution requires to structure content more efficiently.

    2. Specify Your Preferred Image Padding Within the LMS Designer
      Previously, you had to adjust image padding in the HTML code editor after embedding the image. Now, you can simply enter your desired padding during the image embedding Process in the LMS Designer.

    3. Recently Selected Colors Are Saved in the LMS Designer
      Previously, you had to manually select the color for each design element. Now, you can easily choose from your recent selections in the LMS Designer, allowing you to quickly apply your frequently used colors to different content elements.

    YuJa Panorama LMS Accessibility Platform Update –November 2024

    We have successfully pushed an update to all YuJa Panorama LMS Accessibility Platform instances residing in the US, Canada, Australia, Singapore, the Middle East, and the European Union. This update includes improved transparency of document accessibility scores, a new Power BI report template, a redesigned side bar with animated icons, the option to detect missing captions in the Video Platform’s videos, hide the To-Do List, view remediated documents and their analytics in the Course Report, and more.

     

    1. Improved Transparency of Document Accessibility Scores with Detailed Calculation Breakdown
      As an administrator, you can now view a detailed breakdown of scoring rubrics for your documents across different accessibility models. Each model’s accessibility score is calculated using specific formulas based on the number of elements scanned and the proportions of minor, major, and severe issues. Simply hover over the info icon to view the calculation formulas and sample scenarios for each model, providing greater transparency into your accessibility scores.

    2. New Report Template for Presenting Accessibility Analytics in Power BI
      As an administrator, you can now present your accessibility analytics easily in Power BI using our LMS report template. Simply upload the template along with your exported report in a JSON format to visualize your accessibility report.

    3. Integrate the Enterprise Video Platform With Panorama to Detect Missing Captions in Videos
      You can now easily integrate the Enterprise Video Platform with Panorama by adding an access key. After the integration is complete, any videos embedded from the Video Platform into WYSIWYG content that Panorama can scan will automatically be checked for the presence of captions. If a video has missing captions, you will receive detailed instructions on how to add auto-captions through the Video Platform.

    4. Updated Sidebar Iconography with Subtle Animation Element

    5. New Institution-Wide Setting to Hide the To-Do List
      If Panorama’s To-Do List is no longer required, we’ve added a new setting that allows administrators to hide it across your institution. This will ensure that any items in the To-Do List are preserved in case instructors and administrators are granted access to the feature again.

    6. View Remediated Documents and Their Analytics in the Course Report
      We’ve improved our course report to provide an overview of all remediated documents within a selected course. This allows you to see remediation types, compare document scores before and after remediation, and track your file remediation history.

    7. Enhanced Arrow key Navigation With NVDA Screen Reader
      We’ve updated Panorama’s screen reader compatibility with NVDA, ensuring the Alternative Formats Menu can be navigated using arrow keys. Previously, this functionality was restricted if certain NVDA settings were enabled.

    8. Bulk Upload Users to the Panorama Roster Via CSV File Upload

    YuJa Verity Test Proctoring Platform Update – November 2024

    We have successfully pushed an update to all instances residing in the United States, Canada, Australia, and the European Union. This update includes integrated live proctoring sessions within the proctoring setup wizard, an updated Verity results page allowing you to switch between test-takers, a redesigned institution report and course report to provide more in-depth insights, centralized proctoring analytics in the new assessment report, and more.

     

    1. Integration of Live Proctoring Session Within Proctoring Setup Wizard
      Verity now offers a unified workflow for live and non-live proctoring setup. Previously, as an instructor, you could only create a live assessment after setting up a proctored assessment within Verity. Now, we’ve simplified the process by integrating steps for creating a live assessment within our Setup Proctoring wizard.

    2. New “Speed-Grader” Results Page Features Ability to Flip Through All Test-Takers in a Single View
      When reviewing proctored assessments, you can now quickly switch between a test-taker’s attempts and those of others all within the same view. Simply select a test-taker from the drop-down list and their attempts to begin reviewing recordings and relevant information, including room scans, ID photos, and configuration details. Additionally, you can also filter test-taker events by flag level, allowing you to analyze the most concerning issues.

    3. The Institution Report Offers More In-Depth Analytics to Track Verity’s Usage
      We’ve improved our institution report to offer more key metrics that administrators can utilize to track Verity’s usage over time, along with Course Analytics showcasing an overview of Verity’s usage in particular courses. Some of the analytics include:

      • A graph illustrating the attempts associated with each proctoring method. 
      • The total number of times that test-takers have attempted assessments. 
      • The total number of assessments proctored. 
      • The total number of hours proctored.

    4. Improved Course Report Provides New Data Representations to Assess Test-Taker Performance
      The new course report offers insights into flag levels within your course, helping you assess the frequency of severe, major, and minor events flagged in assessments. Additionally, Assessment Analytics provides an overview of each assessment, showing the total number of test-takers, the number of flagged events, and the highest flag level recorded.

    5. Centralized Proctoring Analytics in the New Assessment Report
      The new Assessment Report offers proctoring analytics for any assessment you wish to review. It summarizes the status of completed assessments, the number of test-takers marked with Severe, Major, or Minor events, and access detailed analytics for individual test-takers.

      We’ve added a how-to video in the Verity Lockdown app setup process to help test-takers resolve issues related to screen setup for assessments.

    9. Resolved Session Time-Outs During Assessments in Blackboard
      Previously, test-takers experienced session time-outs when accessing assessments on Blackboard. Now, we’ve resolved this issue, and test-takers can expect questions to appear within a few seconds.
    10. System Check No longer Required for Exempted Test-Takers
      Previously, exempted test-takers were required to undergo a system check before taking an assessment in the Lockdown app. Now, we’ve resolved this issue, and they can proceed to an assessment without any restriction.

    11. Canvas Instructors Can Grade Proctored Assessments Without Requiring the Verity Browser Extension
      Canvas instructors no longer need to download the Verity Browser Extension to grade proctored assessments. They can directly click on their assessment within the Verity Platform, allowing them to grade results on a wider range of browsers and devices, including Safari and iPads.

    We have successfully pushed an update to all YuJa Engage Student Response System instances residing in the United States, Canada, Australia, and the European Union. This release includes multiple rich-text styling options for question titles, new activity reports for creators, and geofence location configuration in administrator accounts.


    1. Add Rich-Text Styling to Question Titles
      With our new rich-text editor, you can now customize the styling of question titles for a unique appearance across both web and mobile versions of Engage. Some of these styles include:

      • Bold, underline, and italicize words
      • Adjust the font color
      • Highlight text

      The poll creation page shows the rich-text styling in question titles.

    2. New Creator’s Activity Report – View Analytics of Your Activities
      As a creator, you can now access detailed reports of your personal activities, including analytics for standalone activities and those published in courses. Additionally, you can gain insights into participant engagement by reviewing reports for individual activities.

    3. Set Up the Default Geofence Locations for Your Institution
      As an administrator, you can now set up multiple geofence locations for your entire institution, allowing attendance creators to select from a predefined list of locations.

    We have successfully pushed an update to all Enterprise Video Platform instances residing in the European Union, Australia, the Middle East, Canada, and Asia. The United States geographic zone will be updated later this week. The highlights for this update include a redesigned Accessibility dashboard, the option to bulk archive courses, a redesigned My Account, more in-depth activity tracking for courses, the Multi-Select metadata type, and more.


    1. Redesigned Accessibility Dashboard with the Admin Panel
      The Accessibility Dashboard has been redesigned from the ground up to provide actionable insights into video accessibility within the enterprise. New capabilities include:

      • Summary Cards highlighting key aspects of video accessibility.
      • Filterable tables detailing On-Demand and Live ASR Captioning Activity, Pending Requests, and Accessibility Settings.
      • Visibility on use of Generative AI capabilities in enhancing accessibility.

    2. Bulk Archive or Restore Courses in Courses & Groups
      If you’re an admin or an instructor managing dozens or even thousands of courses on the Video Platform, you can now Bulk Archive and Bulk Restore multiple courses.
      Several courses are selected in the Courses & Groups page for archiving.
    3. Redesigned My Account, Including Tab Unification, Workflow Improvements, and Refreshed Design
      The My Account page has been refreshed with a new design, consolidating multiple sections into a few easy-to-navigate pages.

      • New Configurations Page to Manage Personal Settings – The new Configurations page lets you manage your settings for notifications, downloads, integrations, and the media player in one place.
      • Upgraded Recycle Bin and Watch History Pages With a New Interface – The Recycle Bin and Watch History pages have been updated with our new branding, making it easier to view deleted content or videos you’ve previously watched.
      • Improved Accessibility – A number of screens with overlays have been re-designed to be more screen-reader and keyboard-navigation friendly.

    4. In-Depth Activity Tracking for Courses
      The Activity panel now offers enhanced audit log tracking for course channel management, allowing you to see whether a course was successfully copied or if any errors were encountered.

    5. New Set of APIs for NL-LOM Metadata Harvesting
      As an administrator, you can now use our NL-LOM APIs for your metadata harvesting, a standardized format designed for educational institutions in the Netherlands to ensure consistency in managing resources.
    6. New Metadata Type – Multi-Select
      The new Multi-Select metadata type allows you to create a list of values and choose one or more to apply to your content.The option to add values for the multi-select metadata is shown.
    7. Improved the Underlying Infrastructure of Our Generative AI Capabilities for Multi-Language Audio Dubbing
      You can now automatically generate more precise audio tracks for videos originally in English with our improved multi-language dubbing capabilities. Simply choose from over 25 languages to dub your video, allowing your viewers to select their preferred listening experience.

    8. Usability Improvement in Platform-Level Settings with Clearer Explanations of Each Option
      With increased settings and configurations, we have introduced a new user interface style to explain each of the options more clearly.

      Previously, generating a Content report may have taken almost two minutes for results to appear. Now, you can expect results to appear in under a minute.

    Lecture Capture Portfolio Update – PC Capture, Apple Capture, and Hardware Hub Updates – October 2024

    We have successfully pushed an update for Software Capture for PC and Mac to all Enterprise Video Platform instances residing in Canada, the European Union, Australia, the Middle East, and Asia. The United States will be updated later this week.


    For the YuJa Software Capture for PC, this update includes the option to remotely uninstall Software Capture and the option to deploy Software Capture to multiple devices using Microsoft Software Installer.

    1. Fleet Management Capabilities – Remotely Uninstall Software Capture
      Building on our existing ability to remotely deploy Software Capture, we’ve now added the option to remotely uninstall it from any computer through the Device panel.

    2. Fleet Management Capabilities – Large-Scale Software Capture Deployment to Devices Using Microsoft Software Installer
      Administrators can now download Software Capture as an MSI file in addition to the existing formats. If you’re a network administrator, this will allow you to configure and deploy Software Capture across your entire institution.

    For the YuJa Software Capture for Apple, this update includes significantly reduced times for processing recordings, the option to resize selected screen areas for recordings, real-time status updates for sessions, and a new setting to enable or disable your iPhone’s camera as a video source.

    1. Significantly Reduced the Processing Times of Recordings
      We’ve reduced the processing time for Software Capture recordings, enabling video playback in just a few seconds.

    2. Resize the Selected Screen Area for Recordings
      Previously, you could select a capture area on your screen for recording, but adjustments were not possible once it was set. Now, you have the flexibility to modify the size of the capture area right up until you start recording, allowing you to fine-tune it to your preference.

    3. Real-Time Status Updates for Active Software Captures
      The Devices panel now provides real-time updates to the activity status of Software Capture sessions, letting you know when it is actively recording and paused.

    4. New Setting to Enable or Disable Your iPhone’s Camera as a Video Source
      With Apple’s latest updates, your iPhone can now connect to Software Capture, using its camera as a video feed. If you prefer not to use this feature, simply uncheck the new Continuity Camera setting in Software Capture.

    For the YuJa Hardware Hub, this update includes a new modal to configure peripheral devices, customize the frame rate of video sources, and imporved offline resilience to start scheduled sessions.

    1. Better Offline Resilience to Start Scheduled Sessions During Unreliable Internet Connectivity
      Previously, scheduled Hub sessions would be delayed if there were repeated connectivity issues. We’ve enhanced this feature so sessions can begin immediately, even when the network connection is unstable (repeatedly connects and disconnects).

    2. Configure Peripheral Devices for the Hardware Hub in Our Enhanced Modal
      We’ve updated the Hardware Hub’s configuration modal to offer a more intuitive layout that displays all sources, such as NDI cameras, and their connection status.

    3. Customize the Frame Rate of Video Sources for Recordings
      Video sources connected to the Hardware Hub can now be configured through the Devices panel, allowing frame rates to be adjusted from 30 fps to 60 fps.

    1. Real-Time Accessibility Integration for WordPress and Drupal CMS Including AutoPilot.AI
      If you’re an administrator, you can now integrate your EqualGround Platform into WordPress and Drupal to detect accessibility issues in real time as you create websites. In addition, you will have complete access to AutoPilot to help suggest fixes for issues as they’re found.

    2. Comprehensive Insights on Issues: What They Mean and Why They Matter
      EqualGround scans for over 100 potential issues, and we understand that you may not be familiar with each one. To simplify things, when an issue is detected, we now provide concise summaries explaining its significance and why resolving it is important.

      If you’re looking to pause recurring scans for specific websites, you can now disable those sites from being scanned by EqualGround.

      When reviewing a document scan of a web page, detected files will display an accessibility score next to them, allowing you to prioritize and address the most concerning documents first.

This update includes a new report for AccessNotes, the option to create tags, minimize background noise, record the audio of browser tabs, use Gen AI to create a text-based summary of audio notes, and the option to enable captions.

      AccessNotes Report allows administrators to track key analytics and provides insights into the number of uploads, transcripts generated, and summaries created.

    We have successfully pushed an update to all YuJa Accessibility AutoPilot.AI instances residing in the US, Canada, Australia, Singapore, the Middle East, and the European Union. This update includes a new wizard to customize the scope of AutoPilot.AI, the option to see a history of past scans, and a new accessibility check to resolve reading order issues.

    1. New Wizard to Customize Depth and Scope of Accessibility AutoPilot.AI
      In previous updates, we enhanced Accessibility AutoPilot.AI with the ability to remediate entire courses. We’ve now taken this functionality a step further by introducing a dedicated wizard setup page where administrators and instructors will be able to select specific file types and issues to address before running AutoPilot. Once AutoPilot runs, a real-time view of the issues being resolved will be shown.

    2. View a History of Courses Accessibility AutoPilot.AI Has Remediated
