    Bi-Monthly Scheduled Release Successfully Deployed

    We have successfully pushed an update to all zones. This release includes a new Metadata tab within Institution that enables improved copyright association of media for library services and improved compliance with specific copyright rulesets. We also improved and refined some user experience workflows within Media Management, added multi-source audio (3+) capabilities within the HTML5 Player, improved slide insertion compatibility within the Video Editor, and 95+ other improvements and fixes.

    Over the next few releases in June we will be adding new capabilities including a new and improved PC Software Capture desktop application, bookmark exporting capabilities, and exciting new media management features. We will also be consolidating and rationalizing capabilities including removal of the Group Messaging tab, Shared Files tab (since Media Management now allows enables full digital asset management), and Course Syllabus. If you are using these tabs, please contact your Account Manager to discuss alternate workflows.

    We used this release to address a number of smaller features and fixes including improved Media Channel accessibility, cleaner Web Capture publishing workflow, an improved HTML5 Player (including resolving a potential hardware capture sync issue) and 28 features and improvements across the Enterprise Video Platform.

    Per our bi-monthly release cycle, the YuJa Enterprise Video Platform has been updated with about 40 improvements and features. Major capabilities include new Video Classroom management tools for instructor-led training classes, refined HTML5 player capabilities, and new features within the Canvas Media Chooser including the ability to initiate captures directly from the Media Chooser extension.

    All production zones received a bi-monthly update which added over 150 new features and improvements including updated Video Classrooms, new Media Management capabilities, added capabilities within Visual Analytics, and general UI updates / enhancements.

    Minor Update Pushed to All Production Zones

    On Friday March 31st, 2017 we pushed a minor update that added some new capabilities around uploading non-media content in a manner consistent with video content. This update also improved the Canvas-specific LMS Media Extension including an improved user experience, filtering content type and embedding shared content.

    Adding ability to upload files and links into the Media Management

    The next release will include the ability to also upload non-video content – such as files, images, PDFs, etc. – into the Media Management platform. This will be updated in our minor “dot” scheduled for March 31st, 2017. Updates to all of the LMS Media Extensions will be forthcoming.

    Android app update for tablets and phones that includes improved HLS streaming

    We are pushing an update this week (pending Android Store approval) to improve the use of HLS encoded streams. We expect this to be available for download by March 31st, 2017.
