    YuJa Enterprise Video Platform – Update RC20221125 Released to CAN and EU Zones

    Canadian Zones Enterprise Video Platform European Union Zones

    We have successfully pushed an update to all YuJa Enterprise Video Platform instances residing in Canada and the European Union. This release provides our users with remote management tools for Software Capture, new third-party hardware support, new API scoping capabilities, Video Quiz improvements, Bulk Merge for videos, and much more. This update will be released to the United States zones next Friday.

    1. Enhanced Fleet Management and Remote Administration Capabilities for Software Capture Devices
      Building upon the recently improved Devices Panel, Content Creators may access the Devices page to perform operations on classroom-installed Software Capture application including:

      • Remotely create custom recording profiles for the YuJa Software Capture application.
      • Update existing profiles to shared recording profiles.
      • Adjust bitrate settings for live streaming and adjust recording devices settings.

      In essence, institutions can now remotely deploy Software Capture application packages, configure them with pre-defined configuration files, and then use the new Fleet Management tools to adjust remote configuration, deployment, and monitoring of the Software Capture application.     2. Audio Segment Amplification Adjustments Available Within the Video Editor
      Content Creators may now digitally raise or lower the audio within their video with the Video Editor. Select specific segments and then adjust the audio to the desired volume for that specific section.     3. Customizable API Endpoint Scopes for API Tokens
      Administrators now have granular control of API tokens for API endpoints. Create customized tokens that allow token-holders to have access to specific APIs.
      The API Token Settings features a list of devices and API endpoints that can be enabled.
    4. Streamlined Way to Bulk-Merge Videos into a New Video
      Content Owners looking to combine multiple videos into a single video can now easily do so. Our new Bulk Merge feature allows users to connect multiple videos without having to even launch the Video Editor. For example, this will allow individual students to merge their assignments effortlessly before submission.
      The Merge Media panel features three videos that will be merged into a single video.
    5. Add Multiple Video Quiz Questions at Given Timepoints
      In providing a complete learning experience, instructors can choose to add multiple pre-assessment, mid-video, and summative assessment questions to their Video Quiz at a given timepoint.

    6. Sync Video Quiz Gradebook Data for Group Owners
      Instructors wishing to preview the Video Quiz, including the Gradebook Sync, can now do so for their courses. Additionally, this feature will allow students with TA roles or other higher-level roles to take part in graded video quizzes.
    7. Drag & Drop Media Content Now Available in List View
      Achieving parity with the Grid View, Content Owners may now simply drag-and-drop media content into their media folders while in List View. This feature provides a completely streamlined experience between our Grid View and List View for media content.

    8. Metadata Schemas are Now Integrated with the Advanced Search Console
      The Advanced Search Console will now auto-populate metadata schemas that are defined by an Organization’s administrator.

    9. Improved Auto-Scaling and Detection for Video Playback
      To provide users with faster initial playback, we have made improvements to the Media Player to adjust the video quality ahead of the initial playback based on the initial network characteristics.
    10. Added Support for NCast Third-Party Hardware Encoders
      Complementing our market-leading integration with Matrox, Extron, and Epiphan, we have now added support for NCast hardware encoders. Users can now register their NCast devices and upload recordings directly to their My Media folder.

    11. Live Stream Player Chat Can be Disabled
      Complementing the new Live Stream single sign-on capabilities added in the previous release, we now allow administrators to disable the Live Stream Chat for a live stream.
    12. Create Custom URLs for Videos
      Content Owners wishing to create personalized links to enhance URL branding may now do so for their media content. By creating unique links, media content will retain the underlying URL while providing custom identifiers.
      Custom Direct Link features a text box where users can edit the end of their link.

    Enterprise Video Platform – Update RC20221014 Released to Canadian and European Union Zones

    We have successfully pushed an update to all YuJa Enterprise Video Platform instances residing in Canada and the European Union. This update provides our users with an enhanced user experience for the Admin Panel’s Devices page, new Group Management options for internal CampusTube media distribution, added security options for Live Streams, and several improvements and bug fixes across the Video Platform. This update will be released to the United States zones next Friday.

    1. Redesigned and Higher-Performance Devices Panel with New Summary Statistics and Admin Options
      We have released a comprehensive redesign of the Admin Panel’s Devices page. The focus of this re-design is to provide a more modern UX experience that also sets the stage for two features focused on Hardware Hub Fleet Management and Software Capture Application Remote Administration and Source Management.
      New capabilities include better performance with hundreds of simultaneously connected Devices, new tab for reviewing and filtering upcoming device schedules, Device Status Summary Cards, as well as an improved Device Preview section.The new Devices Panel featuring an enhanced UI.
    2. New Group Provisioning, Automation and Permission Management for CampusTube Media Distribution
      To provide Administrators with provisioning flexibility and automation for their CampusTube, Groups can now be created through their institution’s SSO integration. Content Creators may give special permission to entire Groups to edit media files within CampusTube Media Channels.     3. The Advanced Search Console is Now Available Within the Media Chooser LMS Extension
      In providing the same interactive search capabilities found within the Video Platform’s Media Library, the Advanced Search Console is now available to use within the Media Chooser for all LMS users.

    4. Ability to Create Secure Live Stream Links with Enhanced Security Access Controls, Including Single-Sign-On
      We have added Live Stream Security Settings to the list of options for pre-scheduled Live Streams. Users can now create private Live Streams that have access-controlled restrictions including Institution’s Single-Sign-On, custom password, IP address, geo-location or domain.
    5. Enhanced Gallery View Thumbnails for CampusTube
      Users are now able to see summary statistics on the nested Media Channels within the CampusTube, as well as a thumbnail preview of recently added video content.Video Platform sub-folders with 0 videos featuring custom thumbnails.
    6. New API to Add or Remove Bookmarks from Recordings
      We have added a new API that allows Content Creators to add or remove bookmarks for their recordings. To learn how to use this API or any of our other APIs, please visit our API support guide.
    7. Enhanced Media Chooser User Interface
      To provide users with more relevant metadata in the video descriptions, we have enhanced the Media Chooser UI and set the default layout to List View.

    8. Option to Require Students to Enable Third-Party Cookies to Ensure Tracking of Analytics and Course Grades
      Instructors now have the option to Require Authenticated Viewing to ensure that video analytics are collected. If third-party cookies are blocked by the viewer, they will be prompted with an error message and instructions on how to enable Third-Party Cookies.

    Enterprise Video Platform – Update RC20220819 Released to CAN and EU Zones

    We have successfully pushed our update to all instances residing in Canada and European Union. This update provides a new CampusTube video experience, a new Cielo24 human captioning enterprise connector, dynamic feedback for video quizzes, new API, and many WCAG 2.1-aligned accessibility improvements. This update will be released to the United States zones next Friday.

    1. New CampusTube Video Portal for Richer Inside-the-Campus Video Distribution
      We have revamped our Shared Folders to create a richer CampusTube video experience that complements the public-facing EnterpriseTube experience. The focus of the new CampusTube experience is to transition the current, staid folder-like view to a more engaging intra-campus video experience. Over the next few release cycles, we will be adding new permissions capabilities, group management capabilities, and auto-provisioning with SAML-based group sets.

    2. Brand New CampusTube Experience with New Media Channel Playlists
      The Media Channel-style playlists within the CampusTube now offer an improved viewing experience with a layout that mirrors LMS course-linked Media Channels.
    3. Advanced Media Search Console with Boolean Operators and Filtering Capabilities
      We have improved upon our advanced text-based metadata search capabilities with a new interactive Advanced Search console experience. The Advanced Search Console is focused on providing “power users” with the ability to seamlessly filter through Titles, Folders, Metadata, Comments, Owners, and more along with the ability to join queries with advanced boolean search operators.
    4. Introducing Cielo24 as a New Third-Party Human Captioning Provider
      Continuing our efforts to provide institutions with the freedom to use their preferred human captioning services, Administrators can now integrate the Video Platform with their Cielo24 account.     5. Video Quizzes Support Ability for Creators to Provide Dynamic Response-Based Feedback
      Content Creators can now provide dynamic feedback for quizzes based on the answers provided by the user.
    6. Support for oEmbed Open Format for Content Embedding
      Users will be able to embed their Video Platform media content such as videos, documents, and photos directly onto platforms such as WordPress and Drupal that support the oEmbed format.
    7. Support for Multiple LTI 1.3 Integrations with a Single Video Platform Instance
      Similar to our LTI 1.1 integration, institutions can now integrate a single Video Platform instance with multiple LTI 1.3 integrations.
    8. Facial Recognition Now Offers a View of Individual Faces
      Within the Facial Analysis tab, Content Creators can now view the faces of those recognized by the Facial Recognition tool.
    9. New APIs for Managing Video Content

      • Users will now be able to add or remove media files for their desired videos.
      • Text can now be added or deleted from caption or transcript files.
      • Create or delete timestamps for videos.
      • Obtain embed code for folders.
    10. Improved Performance for Bulk Transfers
      We have provided a new paginated view of User Collections for Bulk Transfers. The new view will allow Organizations with thousands of individuals to experience faster load times and more responsive operation when transferring media to users and locations within the Video Platform.
    11. Browser Capture Studio Now Supports Apple Safari
      With Safari version 14 supporting the MediaRecorder API, the Browser Capture can now be used with Apple Safari.
    12. Ability to Pause/Resume Browser Capture Recordings
      Content Creators using the Browser Capture Studio can now pause and resume their recordings.

    13. Improvements to Video Platform Accessibility Aligned with WCAG 2.1 Standard
      We have made several improvements to product accessibility aligned with the WCAG 2.1 Level AA standard, including being able to activate folders via the keyboard with a single key stroke, improved visual cues, refined use of the Escape key, additional alternative text for icons, color correction for visual impairment, and more.

    Enterprise Video Platform – Update RC20220624 Released to CAN and EU Zones

    We have successfully pushed our update to all instances residing in Canada and European Union. This update provides in-depth Live Stream statistics, new customizations for the Canvas LTI 1.3 integration, a new Sub-Admin Captioner role, consent forms workflows, our new Facial Analysis tool, and much more. This will be released to the United States zones next Friday.

    1. View Real-Time Live Stream Statistics (Beta)
      We have introduced a new Live Stream tab within Usage & Analytics that provides real-time live stream statistics across Hardware Hub, Software Capture, and RTMP-initiated live streams. Content Owners and Administrators are now provided with in-depth knowledge of their live streams, including real-time stream quality, downstream bandwidth, geo-location maps, and viewer statistics. The Live Stream Analytics tab also offers a space to view statistics for past and current live streams, as well as view upcoming events.
    2. Ability to “Favorite” Documents and Images, as well as, Filter Based On Favorited Items
      Content Owners can now “star” documents and images as a favorite item and then use the Visual Search capabilities to search across all Favorited items. We have also provided a Favorite tab within My Media as a single space to view all your Favorite items. We will be extending this capabilities to video content in a subsequent release.
    3. New “Shared with Others” Tab within My Media
      To complement our Shared With Me feature and improve the ability to collaborate on content with others, we have added a Shared with Others capability. This provides you with a single pane view of content that you have shared with other individuals using the Share capability. To learn more about our sharing feature, please click here.
    4. New Version History Tab for Documents and Images

      Content Owners can now view past metadata history, including file renaming, metadata tags, ownership changes, publishing events, thumbnail changes and dozens more.
    5. Commenting Now Available for all Media Types
      To further increase media engagement, we have expanded our commenting capabilities from video-related media to now include many document types such as DOCX, PDF, and PPT. To learn more about this feature, please click here.
    6. Course Copy Now Also Supports Moodle “Importing Courses” Workflow
      In addition to the Moodle Course Copy workflow, we now support the Moodle Import Course workflow to effectively perform course copy of Media Channels, Video Quizzes, and Embedded Videos. To learn more about this feature, please click here.
    7. Institutions Can Now Send an Electronic Consent Form that Will Record the Recipient’s Response
      Institutions that use photos for marketing purposes often have to receive consent from the model within the picture. The new Consent Form tab allows Content Creators to send, review and manage consent forms within a single space. This feature can integrate with the newly introduced Facial Recognition tool that is part of this release. To learn more about this feature, please click here.
    8. Added Facial Recognition Analysis to Manage Consent Forms

      To ensure all recognized faces within a photo have consent forms tied to them, the Automated Facial Recognition tool can scan an existing library of images owned by the institution to see if a consent form exists. To utilize this capability, please contact your Admin to turn this capability on within your Video Platform instance.
    9. Ability to Generate Reports to Identify Duplicate Content

      As institutions expand their media libraries, we now provide a report that identifies duplicate content. Content Owners can choose to manually generate a report or schedule reports on a daily, weekly, monthly, or quarterly basis. To learn more about this feature, please click here.
    10. Imported Caption Files to the Media Player now Support Bold, Italics and Underline Formatting
      We have expanded our caption capabilities by adding formatting tags within VTT, XML and SRT-based caption files to be rendered within our Media Player.
    11. Improved End-to-End Course Copy Now Supported with LTI 1.3 Integration
      Mirroring the Course Copy workflow introduced in the last release for LTI 1.1, the same end-to-end Course Copy that seamlessly transfers content items such as Media Channels, Video Quizzes, and Embedded Videos is supported in LTI 1.3.
    12. YuJa LTI Link now Available in the Canvas Global Navigation Menu with LTI 1.3 (Optional)
      Institutions using Canvas with LTI 1.3 integration can now enable YuJa along the Canvas Global Navigation Menu if they wish to do so.
    13. Support for Canvas ‘Hidden Tool’ Integration with LTI 1.3

      YuJa links can now be hidden through JSON integration, allowing Instructors to only enable links for the courses they desire. To learn how to enable this feature, please click here.
    14. Browser Capture is Now Able to Recover Interrupted Recordings
      If a recording is interrupted or abruptly terminated, the user will be able to recover the recording automatically when re-entering the Browser Capture Studio.
    15. New Specialized Sub-Admin Role—Caption Editor
      To provide Content Creators with more options when creating a sub-admin, we are introducing new roles targeting specific actions for sub-admins. The Caption Editor role is the first to be released, allowing sub-admins to use the Video Editor and Accessibility Tab tools to edit captions for shared videos while preventing this role from making additional changes. This Himalayas release focuses on real-time Job progress updates, refining workflows for individual users using third-party video conferencing connectors, improving query times, and dozens of smaller improvements to the archiving experience.

    1. Job Management Dashboard Now has Dynamic Progress Updates
      The Job Management Dashboard now tracks progress in real-time which provides Admins an accurate view of when a Job will be completed.
    2. Refreshed UI for Third Party Connectors in My Account Tab
      To provide users with a better experience in managing their third-party integrations – including Zoom, WebEx, Blackboard Collaborate, and Microsoft Teams – the updated user interface implements a tab structure to organize the different connectors.
    3. Enhanced the Robustness of Restoring Content from Himalayas
      With the enhancements made to our backend infrastructure, Himalayas Jobs to restore content – that is, bringing it out from Archive Storage – are now more efficient and robust. While not a common occurrence, anytime an Archive Job fails to be restored, Admins will have the ability to to remove failed Jobs.
    4. Improved Query Performance in Data Management
      We have improved the query performance in the Data Management tool. Admins will experience a quicker turnaround time after running a policy to identify content.

    Enterprise Video Platform – Update 20220506 to CAN and EU Zones

    Canadian Zones Enterprise Video Platform European Union Zones HTML5 Player

    We have successfully pushed our monthly update to all instances residing in Canada and European Union. This release includes a myriad of 150+ new features and smaller improvements including an enhanced Visual Search experience, new Video and Image Cognition analysis, ASR-based language translation, new 360 image capabilities, more digital asset management tools, and much more! This will be released to the United States zones next Friday.

    Additionally, we are actively working on an enhanced Deployment and Versioning Architecture (code-named Quicksilver) to provide rolling updates, zero scheduled down-time (even during monthly updates!), and selective updates that can span successive versions. While we are proud that our customers were not adversely impacted by any unscheduled down-time during the COVID-19 pandemic, our Architecture Team continues to push the envelope for our partner institutions.

    1. New Interactive Transcript that Allows Viewers to Follow Along
      The Media Player has been updated to offer an additional video playback experience. Viewers are able to view the transcript and follow along closely as the transcript highlights the section while the video progresses.

      Viewers can also interact with the transcript in real-time by selecting a point within the transcript to jump to that part in the video. Additional accessibility options to zoom-in to the text transcript and download the content are also integrated into the Interactive Transcript experience.     2. New Image Cognition Analysis and Tagging for Uploaded Images
      To make image content more easily searchable, a new Image Cognition Analysis tool will automatically perform image analysis of uploaded images and add Metadata tags.

      The process allows images to be analyzed and appropriate tags to be added, allowing Content Owners to easily search through content, while optimizing time spent on manually adding Metadata tags. To enable this feature, please reach out to your Customer Success Manager.
    3. New Video Cognition Analysis Tool Can Generate Searchable Tags Describing the Visual Content
      Video Cognition integrated with advanced Machine Learning (ML) models now complements our existing audio-based metadata generation capabilities. Content Owners can choose to have their videos analyzed by an advanced machine learning (ML) model to automatically add Metadata tags.

    4. Ability to Translate Caption Files into 25+ Languages Using Machine-Based Translation Engines
      Complementing our existing capability to request auto-captions in a variety of languages, Content Creators now have the ability to request that the generated caption files be translated into dozens of languages, including French, German, Spanish, and more.

      This update grants Content Creators with a greater ability to expand their reach to a more global audience of learners without any additional costs. To learn more about this feature, please click here.
    5. Upgraded Media Player Support for 360 Image Content
      Complementing our existing 360 VR video support, we have now added support for 360 image content. To support the ever changing image capabilities, the Media Player has been enhanced to support viewing of 360 VR images. Content Creators will be able to upload equirectangular-panoramic images and receive a 360 viewing experience. To learn more about this feature, please click here.
    6. Ability to Customize EnterpriseTube Navigation Experience
      To give Administrators a greater ability to curate the user viewing experience, Administrators now have the ability to enable/disable, rename and reorder the EnterpriseTube Navigation bar. To learn more about this feature, please click here.
    7. Enhanced Visual Search Bar Now Expands and Suggests Past Searches To enhance user experience when searching for content within the Video Platform, UI improvements have been implemented that expands the search bar to include the full view of the search criteria. Additionally, search suggestions will be made based on previous searches.

    8. New Digital Asset Management Capability for Non-Video Assets
      To align with the analytics measured for video content, Content Owners now have access to metrics including the number of views, downloads, size, creation date, last viewed date, etc. of non-video content (such as images and documents).
    9. Ability to Add Fill-In-The-Blank Question Types via the Video Quiz Editor
      To offer Instructors more tools to assess student engagement and understanding, a Fill-In-The-Blank question type is now available in the Video Quiz Editor. Instructors can write a statement and add options for Students to choose from. To learn more about this feature, please click here.
    10. Ability for Administrators to Receive and Approve Human Caption Requests
      Based on popular request, we have implemented the ability for Content Creators to submit a Human Captioning Request to be sent to Administrators for approval.     11. Ability to Obtain the Direct Link and Embed Code of a Video Immediately After Uploading
      We have improved the transcoding pipeline to provide Content Owners with the Direct Link and Embed Code of a video, prior to a video completing the initial (transmux) processing stage. Content Owners will have a near-immediate ability to embed content via the LMS Media Chooser, and by Direct Link and Embed Code. To learn more about this feature, please click here.
    12. Ability to Duplicate a Video Using a Copy for Independent Use
      Content Creators can now easily duplicate any video uploaded to the Video Platform.
