    YuJa Panorama for Digital Accessibility – Update Released to All Zones

    We have successfully pushed an update to all Panorama instances residing in the United States, Canada and the European Union. This update aims to provide users with more configurable settings to measure accessibility.

    1. Improved HTML Accessibility Checks
      To ensure all content meets accessibility standards, HTML WYSIWYG Editor content will be analyzed and assigned an Accessibility Score. Additionally, Panorama will guide instructors with steps to improve the Accessibility Score.
    2. Updated UI of Accessibility Gauges 
      To create uniformity in the Score Report, Course Report and LTI Institution Reporting, the UI of the Accessibility Gauge has been updated.
    3. New Configurable Course Default Settings
      To provide Admin and Instructors with more oversight in to the course, a Course Configuration Panel has been implemented. The Course Configuration Panel serves as a central location for Admins and Instructors to configure course-level settings.
    4. Ability for Instructors to Enable or Disable Accessibility Report Gauges
      In the Course Configuration Panel, Instructors can configure the Report settings, choosing whether to enable or disable the Accessibility Gauges from appearing in their courses.
    5. Ability for Admins to Review Default Settings
      In the Course Configuration Panel, Admins can set default Report settings on an institution-wide level.
    6. Improved Tab Order and Keyboard Accessibility
      The Tab key can be used to navigate through the Panorama Platform, including the Alternative Formats.

    1. Official Panorama Support for D2L Brightspace
      We’re excited to announce Panorama support for D2L Brightspace to help your instructors ensure they are providing accessible course content to their students using D2L. Panorama seamlessly generates multiple accessible variants of the course-material in the background including HTML, Electronic Braille, EPUB, Audio (Speech-to-Text), High Contrast, and Tagged PDF files. Reach out to your Account Manager for additional information.
       
    2. Secure Browser Plugin for Security and Authentication
      Make Panorama even more secure for your Organization by requiring instructors to install the Panorama plugin on their Chrome, Firefox or Safari web browser before they can replace files in Panorama. To turn on this requirement, navigate to Additional Settings in Panorama and enable Visualizer Enhanced Security.
       
    3. Default Prioritization for Frequently Used Courses
      Improve Panorama processing times for the most frequently used courses in your LMS by specifying the Scanning Frequency and Number of Prioritized Courses.
       
    4. Smaller Bug Fixes and Improvements
      Multiple Panorama improvements were made to better handle Tagged PDFs, Organization Reporting Metrics, advanced Alternative Formats usage and more.

    New 1U Hardware Hub RCS-550 and MCS-550 Available to Order

    A new YuJa Hardware Hub model is now available for order with rolling shipment dates commencing in August and September. This fully integrated 1U form-factor is a next-generation, high-performance video appliance that offers video encoding and streaming capabilities. Our 1U Hardware Capture product family will include two models: Model RCS-550-PRO, which offers three video capture source inputs, and MCS-550-PRO that provides two video capture source inputs along with a 5-pin balanced audio Phoenix connector capability.

    1. RCS-550-PRO Offers Three Video Capture Sources
      The RCS-550-PRO model offers the ability to simultaneously capture and live stream three video sources including SDI, HDMI, DVI and more. Unbalanced audio capabilities for mic-in, line-in and USB are also provided.
    2. MCS-550-PRO Offers 5-Pin Balanced Audio Phoenix Connector
      The MCS-560-PRO model offers the ability to simultaneously capture and live stream two video sources including SDI, HDMI, DVI, as well as a balanced audio source that uses a 5-Pin Phoenix Connector. This facilities flexible audio connection with various balanced audio inputs.
    3. Dual Network Ports
      All new models include two Ethernet LAN Ports that can be utilized simultaneously.
    4. 244×68 Pixel Backlit LCD Display with 6 Button Keypad
      All new models include a LCD backlit with 6 button keypad that provides real-time status information on the unit’s activity. Newer capabilities that take advantage of the LCD will be added in future network-based firmware updates.

    5. Integrated Trusted Platform Module (TPM) Security and Cryptography Technology
      All new models include a integrated TPM module that provides hardware-based security and security-related function with a secure crypto-processor that is specifically designed to carry out cryptographic operations. This ensures the integrity of the boot code and firmware that is loaded.

    6. Integrated Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) Fan for Better Cooling and Power Management
      All new models include a new Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) Fan controller that is able to control the level of power delivered to the fan. This enables more efficient unit cooling while lowering power consumption.

      Improved video display orientation to match the orientation used when recording for both portrait and landscape, as well as the ability to select the capture resolution when recording.

    3. Easier to Use Entry Screen
      The login experience has been streamlined. Rather than having to scroll through a list of Organizations and Schools, users can simply enter their email address, organization name or organization’s email domain to login to their organization’s configured authentication methods.

    4. Integration with Playback Analytics
      Playback analytics shown within the Visual Analytics now integrate with playback events generated by users when accessing the iOS application.
    5. Ability to Record Audio Podcasts
      The recording capability now includes the ability to create audio-only recordings (podcasts).

    6. Additional Variable Speed Playback Option
      Improved variable speed playback and device capability, as well as added new 4x speed control.

    7. Extended Control of Use of Non-WiFi Connections
      Selectable option to control whether downloads content for offline use can be performed only when connected to non-Wifi connections. This is aimed at helping users avoid situations where downloading or uploading content exceeds their phone’s data plan thresholds.

    We have successfully published a new version of the YuJa Mobile for Apple application to the Apple AppStore.

    1. Refreshed User Interface and Navigation Experience
      The application introduces a refreshed UI and menu navigation experience. This includes a new Navigation Bar that provides quick access buttons for Channels, Recording, Uploads, and Downloads.

    2. Ability for Users to Download Media for Offline Viewing
      Approved content can now be downloaded within the mobile application for offline viewing (without WiFi or network connectivity).

    3. New Playback and Caption Bar Capabilities
      Added new playback options including auto-replay, play-in-background and full-screen playback. Also added capability to modify the caption style and size.

    4. Improved Media Playback Experience Across Devices
      Introduced a more modern mobile playback experience with improved stability across both older and newer devices.

    5. New Instrumentation to Receive Reports of Crashes and Abnormal Situations
      We now have integrated application instrumentation to receive crash reports and abnormal terminations. Along with this, an improved process to resolve issues more quickly by acting on the crash data has been defined.
