    Software Capture for Apple (v6.0.0) – Major Update – Released to All Geographic Zones

    We have released a new Software Capture for Apple version (version v6.0.0) to all instances located in the United States, Canada and the European Union.

    1. On-Demand Source Switching in an Active Recording Session
      You’ve asked and we delivered. We’ve added on-demand source switching to our MacOS application to let Content Creators enabled and disable video, screen and microphone sources while they are actively recording. Click here to learn more about switching sources while recording.
       
    2. Updated UI with a Cleaner-and-Crisper Feel
      We’ve given the application an updated look to make improve the intuitive feel of the application and bring the experience closer inline with our Software Capture Application for PC.
       
    3. Click-and-Drag Recording Toolbar
      In an effort to provide users more control over their preferred recording session layout, we’ve made the Recording Toolbar movable. Click-and-drag the Recording Toolbar to an intuitive location or so that it doesn’t block what you are sharing on your screen.
       
    4. Additional Advanced Audit Logging Support
      New audit logging makes it easier for Content Creators and Administrators to monitor when a camera or microphone source is enabled or disabled making it easier to investigate user issues. Click here to learn more about our advanced audit logging capabilities in the Video Platform.
       
    5. Enhanced Keyboard Accessibility
      User can now use their keyboard to navigate through the Software Capture application using the Tab key to make the application easier to use. Click here to learn more about YuJa’s efforts to make content accessible for all.
       
    6. Improved Support for Multi-Monitor Devices
      Multi-Monitor device setups are becoming increasingly common amongst our user base and we’re adding additional support for them. Before users with 3 monitors were only able to chooser from left and right monitors, but not their center monitor. Now, they can select up to 2 displays from the list of 3 available displays.     7. Software Stability Improvements
      We’ve added over 25 smaller improvements and fixes including resolving minor language localization issues, invalid time stamps for early segments in the sessions and more.

    Enterprise Video Platform – Update RC20210723 Released to All Zones

    We have successfully pushed an update to all instances residing in the US, European Union and Canada.

    1. A Brand New Browser Capture User Experience
      We redesigned the user experience of the Browser Capture to focus on a more intuitive interface, better control of source recording, and previewing of active sources. We also implemented 15+ stability and firewall traversal improvements. Reach out to your dedicated Customer Success Manager to learn how to enable Browser Capture for your Organization.     2. New Media Player Viewing Options for Multi-Stream Content
      User now have more flexible viewing options for multi-streamed content with the ability to hover over the multi-stream content in the Media Player to select from a Side-by-Side, Picture-in-Picture or Single Source view.     3. Improved Media Player Accessibility with the Ability to Dynamically Move the Caption Bar
      Viewers can now dynamically move the caption bar around to suit their personal preferences. Click here to learn more about Media Player Accessibility tools.
       
    4. Better Messaging When Captions are Being Processed
      The “No Captions Available” when ASR-based captions are being generated has been replaced with the message “Captions are being processed and should be available soon.”. Further, when no captions are pending, a more prescriptive message of “No captions available.     5. Media Detail Advanced Capabilities Tucked Under “More Options”
      As the Video Platform expands, we’re constantly adding new features under the Media Details panel. We didn’t want to overwhelm the novice user and as such, we’ve tucked away advanced media tools under More Options.
       
    6. Editable Embed Code for Advanced Configurations
      We’ve added the ability to edit a video’s Embed Code elements to give power users more control over embed code behavior. Click here to learn more about editing a video’s embed code.
       
    7. Quick-Click for Direct Links and Embed Codes

    8. Improved Publish Dialog Layout for Smaller Screens
      We’ve made changes to the Publish dialog to optimize the space for smaller viewports. Click here to learn more about publishing media in the Video Platform.
       
    9. Ability to Manage Video Quiz Open and Close Dates within the Media Chooser
      We’re continuing to improve our Video Quiz tools for Instructors who post video quizzes directly within their LMS. Now, Instructors can set the Video Quiz’s Open and Close dates directly within the Media Chooser. Click here to learn more about Video Quizzes.
       
    10. Additional Security for the Zoom Enterprise Connector
      A new Verification Code is now required when changing the email address associated with a Video Platform account. This was done to ensure that Zoom-mapped accounts are mapped securely to the correct Video Platform account.
       
    11. New Bulk Actions Options for Bulk Security
      Set the security of a group of videos from Private to Public, or enable Portal Authentication at the same time using our new Bulk Security feature.     12. Improved the Accessibility and Navigability of Charts and Graphs
      In our drive to improve digital accessibility for all users, we’ve added additional screen reader support for graphs and charts in the Video Platform which includes adding data tables to complement graphical chart elements.
       
    13. 24/7 RTMP Live Streaming
      We’ve more formally added 24/7 RTMP Live Streaming as we previously deprecated this capability only to release the ever-growing use cases our users had for 24/7 live streaming of content.     14. Archiving Notifications
      New archiving notifications alert users when their content has been archived by their Administrators. As organizations ramp up archiving media content using YuJa Himalayas, we will continue to roll out new Video Platform notification capabilities.
       
    15. Zoom Metadata
      New Zoom metadata like the Zoom Meeting ID, Name of the Organizer and List of Participants makes it easier for Content Creators and Administrators to search for Zoom recordings imported automatically using the Zoom Connector. Click here to learn more about the Zoom Connector.

    1. Official Panorama Support for D2L Brightspace
      We’re excited to announce Panorama support for D2L Brightspace to help your instructors ensure they are providing accessible course content to their students using D2L. Panorama seamlessly generates multiple accessible variants of the course-material in the background including HTML, Electronic Braille, EPUB, Audio (Speech-to-Text), High Contrast, and Tagged PDF files. Reach out to your Account Manager for additional information.
       
    2. Secure Browser Plugin for Security and Authentication
      Make Panorama even more secure for your Organization by requiring instructors to install the Panorama plugin on their Chrome, Firefox or Safari web browser before they can replace files in Panorama. To turn on this requirement, navigate to Additional Settings in Panorama and enable Visualizer Enhanced Security.
       
    3. Default Prioritization for Frequently Used Courses
      Improve Panorama processing times for the most frequently used courses in your LMS by specifying the Scanning Frequency and Number of Prioritized Courses.
       
    4. Smaller Bug Fixes and Improvements
      Multiple Panorama improvements were made to better handle Tagged PDFs, Organization Reporting Metrics, advanced Alternative Formats usage and more.

    Video Conference Platform – Update RC20210616 Released to All Zones

    We have successfully pushed an update to all Video Conference instances residing in the United States, Canada and the European Union. This release was primarily focused on internal scalability improvements, performance of key functionality, as well as fixes and product improvements.

    1. Participant Waiting Rooms
      We’ve added additional support for our upcoming Waiting Rooms feature. After our next Video Platform update, users who join a Waiting Room-enabled Video Conference early will be directed to a Waiting Room while they wait for the meeting owner to join.     2. Personal Meeting Rooms
      New permanent Personal Meeting Room support has been added to the Video Conference Platform. After our next Video Platform update, users can share Personal Meeting Room Links with meeting attendees that should always remain accessible.     3. Advanced Audit Logging

    We have successfully published Version 1.1.0 of the YuJa Video Conference for Android application to the Google Play Store. This release was primarily focused on internal scalability improvements, performance of key functionality, as well as fixes and product improvements.

    2. Removed Mirroring of Back-Facing Camera Currently, the Android application mirrors the back camera of attendees who’ve joined a Video Conference with their camera enabled. We’ve now removed that mirroring to provide attendees a more natural feel when viewing another’s camera.

    1. Audio Podcast File Alternative Formats Now Generated By Default
      Panorama now provides users the option to request an MP3 audio file as an alternative format for DOCX, PPTX, PDF and more.
       
    2. Configurable Settings to Control Panorama Scanning Frequency
      Brand new settings allow Organizations to specify how often Panorama scans their LMS to synchronize content between the Accessibility Platform and LMS, then automatically queue the content for processing. Before, content was synchronized daily.
       
    3. Alternative Formats in Canvas Pages
      Users can now access alternative formats directly from the Pages activity in Canvas for all digital content processed by Panorama.
       
    4. Detailed Breakdown for Panorama Accessibility Reporting
      Using Panorama’s Accessibility reports to drive improved digital accessibility using AI flagged issues is now even easier. Instructors can now view a detailed breakdown of files that qualify for an accessibility error by issue type.

    1. Drag & Drop Document Replacement with LMS Mirroring of Replaced Version
      With a refreshed UI, the Accessibility Report allow instructors to Drag & Drop edited documents that they have improved the accessibility for. This provides a quick-and-easy way to update documents. Previously, instructors needed to edit the LMS post, remove the old document and upload the new version.

    3. Native HTML Accessibility in Canvas
      Panorama now provides accessibility reporting for HTML files and native HTML webpages in Canvas including Assignments, Discussions, Pages and Syllabus. Users can also access alternative formats of the HTML file and webpage’s text in PDF, Braille, EPUB and more.
       
    4. Configurable Feature Flags in Canvas
      New settings are available to let Organizations control Panorama behavior using Feature Flags. These flags support toggling new HTML Accessibility features and Accessibility Score Weighting.
       
    5. Severity Grade Now Visible in Accessibility Reports
      In our ongoing effort to provide additional transparency to accessibility scores, we’ve added Severity Scores to each accessibility issue flagged by Panorama’s AI to show Minor, Major and Severe issues.
       
    6. Customize the Severity of the Accessibility Checks
      Panorama supports custom Issue Severity Scores that are configurable by an Administrator for PDF, DOC, DOCX, PPT and PPTX file types. Organizations can now provide prioritization of accessibility issues that are unique to their users.
       
    7. Monitor Files Still Processing in Panorama
      Panorama will now identify and mark files that have not been processed allowing instructors to monitor when a document is ready for review.

    YuJa Himalayas for Archiving & Compliance – Released to US Zone

    We have successfully released a new product called YuJa Himalayas for Archiving & Compliance. This product works in tandem with the YuJa Enterprise Video Platform to more cost-effectively manage large volumes of media in a compliant manner. It is specifically designed to actually lower total cost-of-ownership as media usage continues to scale. To learn more about licensing this offering, please contact your Account Executive.

    1. YuJa Himalayas Integration with YuJa Enterprise Video Platform – Implemented enterprise integrations between YuJa Enterprise Video Platform and YuJa Himalayas so the two systems can effectively cooperate to lower effective costs.

    2. Integration with Data Management tab via Archive to Himalayas Option – The Data Management tab within the Admin Panel now offers an integration with Himalayas to directly archive content to YuJa Himalayas.

    3. Manage and Recover Archived Content – Use Himalaya’s Data Explorer tools to restore archived content within 12 hours. Future releases will include new machine learning and multi-level archiving capabilities.
